The Acoustic Blues Competition gets a makeover in 2014, as the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival partners with the Telluride Blues Society and the Colorado Blues Society to present the new and improved Telluride Blues Challenge. Following the previous guidelines of the Acoustic Blues Challenge, the new event seeks talented musicians who excel in the Blues genre. The competition is open to any solo and duo performer, acoustic and electric, who is not currently signed to a MAJOR record label or publishing deal.
The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a spectacular, 13-minute ride on a free gondola—the first and only free public transportation system of its kind in the United States. This popular scenic attraction provides access to hiking and biking trails in the summer and the ski slopes in the winter.
