schedule announcement coming march 2026
This pairing is simply a matter of having gotten the band back together. GA-20 was formed by Bostonian bluesman and guitarist, Matthew Stubbs in 2018, when legendary harp man, Charlie Musselwhite, embarked on a noted collaboration with Ben Harper. Mr. Musselwhite barely needs an introduction, but since younglings might be reading this, he’s one of the most renowned blues harpists Of All Time. A true GOAT, in the parlance of our times. While Charlie was on tour, GA-20 (that’s a Gibson amplifier manufactured from 1950-1961, gear geeks) stayed busy pumping out their stripped-down, raunchy style of Chicago blues, both live and on a series of recordings on Colemine/Karma Chief.
Charlie, a Blues Hall of Fame inductee, who humbly refers to himself as “just a working stiff,” has been equally busy touring, recording and entering into numerous collaborations. His latest record is 2025’s Look Out Highway, a collection of gritty songs about life, love (or not), and a sketchy character or two. And of course, his harp wails and moans, keens and cries throughout, calling back all those years working Chicago blues clubs with the greats. He’s a Grammy winner with 13 nominations, 33 Blues Music Awards, and a career stretching nearly six decades. We’re taking a knee, sir. And we’re packing our bags for Chicago. With Charlie and GA-20, we’ll be there in no time.
