Christone “Kingfish” Ingram just graduated high school. But close your eyes and listen to this young man wail on his guitar and you’d swear you’re listening to an old blues cat. He started on drums at the age of 6. At 9, he picked up the bass guitar, and by the time he hit his teens, lead guitar and vocals were all comfortably in the bag. His roots are in gospel music and his cousin is country great Charlie Pride. He honed his craft under the guidance of Daddy Rich and Bill Perry at the Delta Blues Museum and counts among his style mentors a range of the greats – Elmore James, Lightnin’ Hopkins, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, and Prince. His future is great and we’re along for the ride.
