Don’t think for one second that young people don’t play the blues. We know better, and that’s why Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has been on our line-up already, appearing in 2018. This time around, this exciting young performer has tallied up numerous accomplishments in his career, including earning a Grammy award this year for his latest record, 662, for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Again, no surprise here. The Clarksdale, Mississippi native’s guitar work is scorching, his vocals are plaintive and soulful, and his songwriting is direct and honest. We agree with Rolling Stone who said, “Ingram plays guitar with dramatic, searing tone and sure-handed authority. And that’s just in the studio; he’s even scarier live.” We are not afraid.
