Marcus King will be the first to tell you, music saved his life. This massively talented guitarist from South Carolina has been working as a musician pretty much since he was old enough to hold a guitar. The life of a musician is not only one of artistic exploration, miles and miles of road under the bus wheels, countless interviews, and studio work, but also can be filled with temptations, peril and pitfalls. And Marcus will also tell you the darker side of a life in music nearly ensnared him. But with healthier choices, newfound love, and a deep trust in his music, he’s come into the light. That truthfulness and fearless honesty permeates his every song. His latest record, Darling Blue, is a testament to how what can go wrong in life can take a dramatic turn for the better.
