Introducing San Juan Billy Goat Blonde Ale Brewed with Local Hops

New festival exclusive Blonde Ale was brewed as a collaboration between the festival, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Billy Goat Hop Farms.

We can all agree that things are a bit different this year, but cheers to the fact that we are all about to be in Town Park again enjoying the music and of course drinking delicious craft beer. We are thrilled to introduce and debut the San Juan Billy Goat Blonde Ale aka “Scapegoat” at the 2021 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival. Brewed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company using fresh picked hops from our neighbors Billy Goat Hop Farm down the road in Montrose, Colorado, the Blonde Ale is a festival exclusive.

The Billy Goat Farm, is a small and passionate hop farm that produces an incredible crop. Fresh off of their fall harvest, we’re excited to have the owners Chris, Audrey, their team and a few spare hop vines amongst us at this years event.

San Juan Billy Goat Blonde Ale “Scapegoat”

Brewed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., in collaboration with our friends at Billy Goat Hop Farm in Montrose, CO, this Blonde Ale is crisp and clean with notable hop character thanks to Nugget, Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus hops. Flavors and aromas of pine and citrus balance notes of fresh-baked bread. 4.5% ABV

The Blonde Ale along with other Sierra Nevada craft beer offerings will be available throughout the festival at the “Big Red” Sierra Nevada craft beer bar and in the VIP Area.

About The Billy Goat Hop Farm

Billy Goat Hop Farm is the largest hop farm in the Southwest, providing superior quality fresh, whole cone, and pelletized hops directly to craft brewers. Starting in 2017, they've grown to 32 acres that produce 9 varieties of amazing hops. Owners and farmers Chris and Audrey pride themselves on creating genuine farmer-brewer relations and bringing true craft into their process. Combining traditional hands-on practices and state-of-the-art technology, they use less water and chemicals which transcends into a healthier ecosystem, soil, and hop plants. Brewers enjoy the bright aroma and subtly unique flavor profile imparted from Colorado's terroir, and the passion poured into every step of the process. Know your farmer, Love your beer.
