Hamish Anderson

Saturday, 16th at 12:00 pm (Main Stage) | Saturday, 16th at 10:00 pm (Blues Stage)

There’s a very old soul encased in this young man’s body. He plays guitar as if he’s been possessed by all three Kings - B.B., Albert, and Freddie - Keith Richards, and Peter Green. He dove into the cool, blue pool left by the greatest blues pioneers – Son House, Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, Elmore James – and has emerged with an adroit understanding that he’s an honored bearer of the blues standard. An Aussie who now makes his home in L.A., his new record, Trouble, is a mature collection of songs recorded essentially live, giving it a warm, honest tone and authenticity that’s hard to find in today’s auto-tune world. His songwriting demonstrates a melodic gift that reflects another of his influences, none other than Tom Petty.  Those old blues masters are resting easy when Hamish plugs in his guitar. Everything is right in the world.
