When Shakey Graves (real name Alejandro Rose-Garcia) made his Blues and Brews debut in 2014, to say that the gentleman from Texas was the talk of the festival would be an understatement. His gracious presence and open manner endeared him to all he met – and that was many – and his performances enchanted music lovers with his engaging blues-rock-folk songs. He was a one man band then but has since added additional musicians for both his live and recorded work and with them has appeared on Conan, Letterman, and Seth Myers, as well as his hometown’s fine music program, Austin City Limits. Last year he copped the Best Emerging Artist award at the Americana Music Awards. Best of all, in 2012 the first Shakey Graves Day was decreed by Austin’s mayor on February 9. For that day and the two days following, fans can purchase his unreleased music on a pay-what-you-can basis online. We’re over the moon he’s playing for us again!
