These Boston-based blues badasses are here to take you to sweet home Chicago. Power trio GA-20 are all about traditional electric blues, but with a new century upgrade. It’s a revival, folks. The result is something altogether different, yet familiar. You’ll hear a little country twang, little garage, a lot of punkish attitude. Guitarist Matt Stubbs, guitarist/vocalist Pat Faherty, and drummer Tim Carman have a new record out on Colemine, Crackdown, and it crackles with propulsive energy. These new school cats name the likes of Hound Dog Taylor, Otis Rush, J.B, Lenoir and Johnny “Guitar” Watson as influences and their affinity for old school gear lends grit and authenticity to their sound. Speaking of which, GA-20 is a vintage Gibson guitar amp beloved of traditional sound aficionados.
