This British blues guitar slinger is going to have people picking up their jaws off their tarps. As a teen she was inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Albert Collins, and all those influences are definitely in place, but with a flair all her own. In 2002, the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart heard her perform and gave her a wider platform where her prowess was duly noted. Now, a handful of acclaimed albums later, she’s fully come into her own. Her latest record, “Reckless Heart,” dropped earlier this year and is an exciting collection of ferociously played electric blues songs. And wait until you hear this woman sing. She’s powerful and fierce. Joanna divides her time between her native England and the Motor City. She just bagged her first major label signing with Sony on its Silvertone label and now headlines her own tours. Keep looking for your jaws.
