Comedy returns to Blues & Brews with stand-up shows featuring four comedians and the return of the "Back Porch Comedy Club" at the Wood Ear (135 E Colorado Ave). With cozy couches and comfortable seating along with rustic decor and ambient lighting, Back Porch Comedy Club will be the ideal setting to catch some late night humor. This intimate venue will host the "Dirty Shows" on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 10:00 pm. For the young at heart, please note that some of the comedy will be adult in nature. Catch all five comedians again on the Blues Stage, Saturday, September 18 at 4:30 pm and Sunday, September 19 at 4:00 pm during the Festival.

Troy Walker

A regular at Comedy Works, Walker has won the Comedy Works "New Faces" contest twice. After making his network TV debut on The Late Late Show, Troy has steadily racked up credits including VICE’s Flophouse and playing the role of “Don Lemon” on Fusion TV’s Trump vs. Bernie. Troy was also featured in a PetSmart commercial directed by Christopher Guest and starring Jane Lynch, had his own Comedy Central digital series and can be seen later this year in "Corporate" on Comedy Central.

Walker has had the pleasure of opening for some of the most prominent comedians in the country. In addition to headlining clubs and colleges across the nation, Troy serves as a fine ambassador of Denver comedy at national and local comedy festivals including The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, The Great American Comedy Festival, and Portland's Bridgetown Comedy Festival. He was also selected as one the Just for Laughs Montreal’s prestigious “New Faces” and is currently clawing his way up the L.A. comedy scene.

After witnessing Troy’s storytelling abilities and commanding presence on-stage it should come as no surprise that he's also a licensed attorney who graduated from University of Denver's Sturm College of Law.

Candice Thompson

Candice Thompson is a comedian/writer/actor that was born in Queens, raised in Cincinnati, and currently resides in Los Angeles. She is the perfect mix of both East and West coasts with just the wrong amount of Midwest street cred. Candice comes from an ethnically mixed family with both of her parents being of African-American and Native American descent and one day hopes to parlay her racial ambiguity into huge action roles like Dwayne Johnson did.

Candice is a paid regular at The Comedy Store in Hollywood. You may have seen her on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and Comedy Central’s The New Negroes . She was also on NBC’s Bring The Funny & Last Comic Standing as well as correspondent on E! network’s The Comment Section. You can hear her every week on her podcast The Struggle, and in the comedic YouTube sketch series she co-created, Creepy Caress.

Candice’s comedy has often made people squirm in their seats and most recently, has gotten her ejected from a wedding, but it’s her edgy vs. adorable factor that keeps crowds begging for more. Candice wants to thank her friends and family for all their support, but most of all she wants to thank God for making her better than everybody.

Jenny Zigrino

With the sweetness of the Midwest and the iron balls of the East Coast, Jenny Zigrino is a comedian that packs a punch of truly original humor. She's charmed audiences across the country with her wit, keen observations, embarrassing anecdotes, and brilliant honesty for a compelling performance you can't ignore.

She made her late night debut on Conan O'Brien and was a recent guest on the hit shows @Midnight and Adam DeVine's House Party Season 3 on Comedy Central. She's been featured on TBS, Oxygen, TruTV, MTV Fox, and IFC.

A rising star in Hollywood, her first film appearance was a leading role in the film 50 Shades of Black with Marlon Wayans. She also stars in the film Bad Santa 2 with Billy Bob Thornton, the sequel to the 2003 hit film Bad Santa. She exploded onto the Just For Laugh's New Faces Showcase for 2016 and has been featured in many festivals across the country. She is an alumni of The New York Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Moontower Comedy Festival, and many more.

She recently released an IFC Web series with her friend and comedian Jen Saunderson "The Filling is Mutual" available on IFC Digital. Debuting this summer is Jenny’s first comedy special, which she just filmed in April 2017 for Comedy Central.

In conclusion, she's kind of a bad ass bitch.

Elliot Woolsey

Colorado native Elliot Woolsey refuses to leave the state because he’s unaffected by alcohol at sea level, and that’s a dealbreaker. Instead he’s been a staple of the Colorado comedy scene for over a decade. He’s a regular headliner at the world famous Comedy Works in Denver, host of Film on the Rocks, and has been featured at the High Plains Comedy Festival and the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival (where he danced on stage with George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelics).
