Opening Celebration At Telluride Arts HQ With Rob Gonzo

Telluride Arts, Rob Gonzo, and Disco Swell Custom Hats are hosting an art party to celebrate the start of the 29th Telluride Blues and Brews Festival on Thursday, September 14 from 6-8 pm at Telluride Arts HQ. The party will feature live music from DJ Koko Love, hors d'oeuvres and a bar with beer, wine and cocktails.

Meet Rob Gonzo - The Artist Behind A Trilogy Of Festival Paintings

We are excited to announce that this year’s commemorative artwork is the final piece of a painting trilogy for Telluride Blues & Brews Festival showcasing artist Rob Gonzo. When seen side-by-side, the paintings reveal a warm, welcoming street scene filled with music, beer, and the majestic mountains that surround Main Street in Telluride. Don't miss your chance to meet Rob in person at the merchandise tent between 2:00 - 4:00 pm daily during the festival. The original canvas painting will be on display, so make sure to stop by and check out the vibrant colors and ephemera collected by Rob over the years!

Join The Outside Group Hike And Discover The Epic Scenery Of Telluride

Kick your Sunday morning into high gear! Join other festival-goers on a brisk but leisurely hike on one of Telluride’s most popular trails up to the beautiful Bear Creek Waterfall. Hosted by Festival partner Outside, the group hike begins on Sunday, September 17 at 9:00 am from the Outside booth inside the festival grounds. The group will access the trail from the end of South Pine Street and enjoy a steady 2-mile climb leading up to the falls. Hikers should plan for approximately 1 hour to reach the falls. Team members from Outside will be on-site to answer questions about hiking, gear and more. They’ll also offering demo gear to try out and giving away free swag! 2023 Blues & Brews Late Night Shows

The music continues long after the sun sets!

The nightlife in Telluride is a thriving scene built on a strong, musically-charged local culture and there’s plenty to experience each night of the festival. Thursday’s kick-off includes the exclusive Bal De Maison Opening Show at the Sheridan Opera House. After the music ends in the park, the festival scene moves into various venues across the town of Telluride. Friday and Saturday evening hosts four different “Juke Joint” shows each night showcasing an assortment of artists up close and personal and a stand-up comedy venue. Sunday the festival concludes with the celebrated Fais Do-Do Closing Show. Dive into the full late night schedule below.

2021 Covid-19 Entry Requirements

In response to the growing threat of the delta variant, and in addition to the measures we already have in place, proof of full vaccination or proof of a negative Covid-19 test will now be required for all festival entry. This is an important safety precaution implemented to protect our festival attendees, staff, artists, vendors, volunteers and community members. This will be the first time that some participants attend a large event since early 2020, which is why these new safety protocols have been set above and beyond what the State of Colorado requires of our event. Your cooperation and participation is appreciated. For those unvaccinated, free testing will be available.

2021 Fais Do-Do: Closing Celebration

The 2021 festival weekend ends with a special closing celebration show from North Mississippi Allstars at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Sunday, September 19. The doors open at 8:30 pm and the show starts at 9:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now and very limited (less than 50 tickets left).

As the nation gradually emerges from the pandemic and spring turns to summer, we are excited to finally announce that the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival will officially return this September 17 - 19, 2021! After months of hard work with local, county and state officials, we have developed an operating plan to safely host the festival that follows guidelines from governing health organizations and creates a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment.

Otis Taylor's Psychedelic Banjo Posse Live At Telluride Blues & Brews Festival

Guitar Player magazine writes, “Otis Taylor is arguably the most relevant blues artist of our time.” We agree. The Denver-based master of trance blues has returned to Telluride, this time with an outfit he calls the Psychedelic Banjo Posse. This will be incredible. His recorded output sees him taking an unflinching view of the African-American experience in the US, making him as much a historian as a musician. The banjo — imported to these shores from Africa during the slave trade — has always been celebrated in his music. This iteration of his musical vision will be an illuminating trip into history and Otis’ unique take on the blues.
