Sunday 15th at 5:30 pm (Blues Stage)

Sometimes it’s possible to come across a legend — or an Empress — you might never have heard of until they’re singing right in front of you. Meet Sandra Hall, The Empress of the Blues. She’s been singing since she was 4 in her grandfather’s church. He forbade secular music in his home, but when he traveled, her grandmother hauled out the record player from where it was hidden under the bed and played blues and R&B recordings for friends who came over to listen and party. Sandra was s good student and paid for her tuition in nursing school by performing burlesque. This divinely talented performer is one of this year’s Music Maker Relief Foundation artists. Join us in bowing to the Empress.
