Camping puts you right in the heart of the Festival. Stay steps from the stages, enjoy exclusive Campground Sessions, and make the most of your Telluride Blues & Brews weekend. Read the information below before you arrive so you know where you're camping, when to arrive, and how load-in works.

Campers have access to amenities like restrooms (flushing toilets and all), shower facilities and access to the Campground Sessions.

Camping passes are sold per person. Camping is communal in all areas, and there are no designated, assigned campsites. You may choose an available site within your camping area when you arrive. Expect a social campground experience with neighbors camping close by.

Load-In & Arrival Instructions

Please read these instructions before arriving in Telluride. Load-in procedures vary by camping area and camping pass type.

Campground Box Office

Pick up your wristbands at the pop-up box office in the campground.

5-Day Campers, Wednesday, September 16

  • 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

4-Day Campers, Thursday, September 17

  • 8:00–10:00 AM

The campground box offices can be used to exchange tickets for primary entry wristbands (such as GA or VIP 3-Day) and camping wristbands.

Important: The campground box offices do not distribute wristbands for late-night events. After the campground box office closes, wristbands for Bal de Maison, Juke Joints, and Fais Do-Do must be picked up at the Main Box Office or the appropriate late-night venue doors.

Main Box Office Hours

  • Thursday: 10:00 AM–6:30 PM

  • Friday & Saturday: 9:00 AM–8:15 PM

  • Sunday: 10:00 AM–7:15 PM

After the Main Box Office closes, wristbands for late-night events can be picked up at the appropriate venue doors.

Important: Do not bring your vehicle into Town Park or line up on Main Street before you have received the appropriate temporary unloading pass or RV/Vehicle Pass.

5-Day Campers — Wednesday, September 16

Zone 1

8:00 AM — Pop-up box office opens

9:00 AM — Line-up begins

9:30 AM — Campers are released

Main Campground

2:30 PM — Line-up begins

3:00 PM — Campers are released

There will be separate lines for RV/Vehicle Pass holders, Zone 1 tent campers, and Main Campground tent campers.

Step 1: Line Up

One person from your group may begin lining up on foot between the Blues Stage and the Tennis Courts. Individuals may also line up on their own.

Lines are first come, first served and will form in front of the Blues Stage. Campers will be released into their respective campgrounds in the order they arrived.

Do not line up before the posted time.

DO NOT LINE UP WITH YOUR VEHICLE IN TOWN PARK OR ON MAIN STREET PRIOR TO RECEIVING A TEMPORARY UNLOADING PASS OR RV/VEHICLE PASS.

Step 2: Claim Your Campsite

Once released, campers may walk into the campground and claim an available site by placing a tarp or tent on the site.

Sites are first come, first served. Please move into the campground in a slow and orderly manner.

Do not place your tent in an RV or vehicle space.

Step 3: Get Your Temporary Parking Pass

After claiming your campsite, go to the Camp Host to receive your temporary parking/unloading pass.

Step 4: Bring Your Vehicle In to Unload

Leave the park and return with your vehicle when instructed. Enter the campground using your temporary pass and unload your gear quickly at your campsite.

Step 5: Move Your Vehicle to Off-Site Parking

After unloading, vehicles without a campground parking pass must be moved to designated nearby parking.

Vehicles may not remain in the campground without a valid Vehicle Pass.

Parking staff will direct you to nearby parking for the duration of the festival.

RV & Vehicle Pass Holders

Do not bring your RV or vehicle into Town Park before the designated load-in time.

RVs

RV pass holders should:

Leave your RV parked in a legal location outside Town Park until you are released to enter.

Once released, collect the RV site tag for the location you want.

Bring the site tag to the Camp Host.

Exchange the site tag for an RV Hang Tag to display in your windshield.

Follow campground staff directions for entering and parking your RV.

Please bring proof of your RV Pass.

Vehicles

Vehicle Pass holders should:

Leave your vehicle parked in a legal location outside Town Park until you are released to enter.

Bring proof of purchase of your Vehicle Pass.

Exchange your Vehicle Pass for a Weekend Hang Tag as directed by campground staff.

Display your hang tag in your windshield throughout the festival.

4-Day Campers — Thursday, September 17

Warner Field

8:00 AM — Pop-up box office opens

9:00 AM — Line-up begins

9:30 AM — Campers are released

The same first-come, first-served procedure applies to tent campers:

Line up on foot at the designated location.

Wait for campground staff to release campers.

Claim an available campsite with your tarp or tent.

Do not place your tent in an RV or vehicle space.

Follow Camp Host instructions for unloading and parking.

Do not bring your vehicle into Town Park or line up on Main Street before receiving the appropriate temporary unloading pass or Vehicle Pass.

Important Load-In Reminders

Do not arrive early and line up with your vehicle. Early vehicle lines may interfere with festival operations and will not guarantee your place in line.

Only one person per group needs to line up on foot.

Camping sites are not assigned and are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.

A tarp or tent is used to claim your camping area.

Do not claim an RV or vehicle space with a tent.

Keep your proof of purchase for your camping, Vehicle or RV Pass readily available.

Follow all directions from Camp Hosts and parking staff.

Vehicles without the appropriate pass must be moved to designated off-site parking after unloading.

Campground Map

There are 3 general areas for camping to choose from:

4-Day Camping on Warner Field

  • Warner Field Campground is the baseball field as you enter Town park.

  • This area does not contain trees.

  • Warner Field is located directly adjacent to the beer garden for the Tasting Sessions on the festival grounds

  • This campground is open Thursday-Monday

5-Day Camping in Main Campground

  • Main Campground is a large, wooded general area to the east of the festival grounds

  • This area contains the Campground Sessions Stage by the river

  • Main campground is adjacent to the stunning Wilderness of Bear Creek

  • Main campground is open Wednesday-Monday

5-Day Camping in Zone 1 Area

  • Zone 1 is a smaller wooded general area in the southeast corner of the Main Campground

  • Adjacent to the stunning Wilderness of Bear Creek

  • This campground is open Wednesday-Monday

Campground Basics

Before You Arrive

Camping Requirements

All campers must have:

  • A valid festival ticket

  • A valid camping wristband

  • Any required vehicle or RV pass (if applicable)

Camping tickets are sold per person and per vehicle, not per campsite.

All occupants of vehicles and RVs must have valid camping and festival wristbands.

Children 12 and under camp and attend the festival free of charge but must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Check-In & Wristbands

Upon arrival at the campground, each vehicle will stop at the campground entrance. Campground Hosts will verify camping and festival credentials before directing you to your camping area.

Please keep your wristband secure throughout the weekend. Lost, removed, torn, damaged, or altered wristbands cannot be replaced.

The festival is not responsible for lost, stolen, forgotten, or misplaced tickets.

Campground Rules

To help preserve the campground and ensure a great experience for everyone, please follow these rules:

  • No animals are permitted in campgrounds or parking areas (service animals permitted with proper documentation).

  • No camping is permitted within 50 feet of Bear Creek Falls.

  • No camping is permitted on private property or in taped-off areas.

  • Please respect quiet hours and your fellow campers.

  • Trash and recycling containers will be available throughout the campground. Please help us keep the campground clean.

Cooking & Fires

For safety reasons, wood fires are not permitted in the campground.

Allowed cooking options:

  • Charcoal cooking fires are permitted only in designated metal containers.

  • Propane grills, BBQs, and propane fire pits are permitted on Warner Field.

Please always use caution when cooking and never leave cooking equipment unattended.

Campground Hosts & Security

Campground Hosts will be available 24 hours a day throughout the festival weekend.

Hosts can assist with campground questions, directions, and general needs. They can be reached by radio or phone.

Lost & Found is located at the Warming Hut.

Showers & Restrooms

Showers are available at the permanent Town Park facilities.

Shower fees are collected by the Town of Telluride. Shower tokens may be purchased with bills at the shower entrance.

Additional portable restrooms will be available throughout the campground.

Vehicles & RVs

Vehicle and RV Passes

All vehicles and RVs entering the campground must have a valid vehicle or RV pass displayed in the windshield at all times.

Vehicles without a properly displayed pass are subject to towing at the owner's expense.

Towed vehicles count as two vehicles and require the appropriate number of passes.

Parking During the Festival

Once a vehicle or RV enters the campground, it must remain parked until after the festival.

Vehicles may not enter and exit the campground throughout the weekend.

If you leave the campground with your vehicle before Monday, your vehicle pass will be removed and you will not be permitted to return with that vehicle.

RV Information

RV spaces are assigned by campground staff upon arrival.

Please note:

  • There are no electrical hookups or sewer services available within Town Park.

  • RV waste tanks may be emptied at the Society Turn dump station before or after the festival only.

  • RV dumping is not permitted during the festival.

RV pass holders will be informed of these limitations before entering the campground.

Parking for Campers Without Vehicle Passes

Campers without vehicle passes may unload their gear at the campground before moving their vehicle to designated off-site parking.

Campers will have 30 minutes to unload and relocate their vehicle.

Campground Hosts will mark the driver's side windshield with the permitted unloading time.

Vehicles parked in the campground before Wednesday must either display a valid vehicle pass or be moved to off-site parking between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM Wednesday morning.

Important Parking Notes

  • Sleeping is not permitted in vehicles parked in off-site parking areas.

  • Vehicles parked improperly or without required passes may be towed at the owner's expense.

Camping Tips

Telluride nights can be cool, even in September. We recommend bringing:

  • Warm layers and a rain jacket

  • Tent stakes suitable for mountain conditions

  • A portable phone charger

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses

  • A reusable water bottle

  • Earplugs for sleeping near campground activity

Campground Sessions

A special perk available to campers only are the shows in the campground exclusive to campers only (camping wristband required for entrance). Artists will be playing on the Campground Stage each day of the festival.

Campground FAQs

  • Dogs and pets are not permitted in the campground. Service animals are permitted with proper documentation.

  • Camping is first come, first serve with no reserved campsites. If you would like to camp near friends, we recommend arriving together and setting up at the same time.

  • No. All camping is communal and first come, first serve. Individual campsites are not reserved or assigned. Get to know your neighbors and enjoy the shared campground experience!

  • All official festival camping areas are located within approximately a 2–3 minute walk of the festival entrance.

  • No. All campers must have both a valid camping pass and a festival ticket. Camping wristbands are required for campground access.

  • 5-Day campers: Check-in begins Wednesday morning.

    4-Day campers: Check-in begins Thursday morning.

    All campers must vacate the campground by Monday at 11:00 AM, at which time control of the campground returns to the Town of Telluride.

Arrival & Parking

  • Upon arrival, follow campground signage and directions from festival staff. Early arrivals will participate in a Load-In Lottery (see the Campground Info tab for details).

    You may unload your equipment before receiving your camping wristband. After unloading, visit the Box Office to exchange your camping ticket for your camping wristband.

    Campers without a campground vehicle pass will have 30 minutes to unload before moving their vehicle.

  • If you purchased a campground parking pass, you may park onsite with your pass displayed in your windshield.

    Campers without a campground parking pass will be directed to designated camper parking areas by campground staff.

  • You can leave and return to the campground on foot with your camping wristband. Vehicles cannot leave and return during the festival.

Campground Access & Guests

  • Yes. Glamping guests receive guest passes for friends visiting the Glamping Village. All guests must have a valid guest pass and follow campground rules.

  • For the safety and comfort of all campers, campground access is limited to registered campers and approved guests with valid camping wristbands or guest passes.

  • Camping wristbands are non-transferable once they have been issued. Lost, damaged, altered, or tampered wristbands will not be accepted.

Campground Amenities

  • A campground host will be available throughout the weekend to assist campers and answer questions. Campground staff will enforce campground rules, including quiet hours.

  • Yes. Restrooms and showers are available in the campground and are ADA accessible.

  • Showers operate using tokens.

    Each $1 token provides approximately 75 seconds of hot water.

    Token machines accept cash bills only and do not accept coins or credit cards. The machines dispense the exact amount of tokens purchased, and campground staff cannot provide refunds for unused tokens.

  • Limited electrical outlets and charging stations will be available near campground bathroom locations.

    Availability is not guaranteed, so we recommend bringing a portable battery charger. Glamping guests will have power available in their tents.

  • Yes. Ice will be available for purchase from the campground host throughout the weekend.

  • Yes. Lost & Found will be located at the warming hut next to the Town Park Oval, along the path between the Box Office and the festival entrance.

  • Yes. Campers may bring personal food, beverages, and alcohol into their campsite.

    Open containers are not permitted outside the campground or in public areas of Town. Alcohol is not permitted inside the festival grounds.

  • Cooking equipment is permitted with restrictions.

    Personal charcoal grills and propane grills are allowed in Town Park Campground. Charcoal grills are not permitted in Warner Field; propane grills are allowed.

    Please always follow fire safety guidelines and be respectful of neighboring campers.

  • Smoking is permitted in camping areas, but we ask all campers to be respectful of their neighbors.

    Marijuana consumption is not permitted openly or publicly. Please be considerate of those around you, and campground security may intervene if complaints are received.

  • Campers are responsible for their personal belongings. We recommend leaving valuables at home and securing important items at your campsite.

    The festival is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

  • Yes. Bikes are allowed in the campground; however, there are no designated bike storage areas within the campground.

    Bikes must be stored at your campsite or in designated bike parking areas. Bikes are not permitted inside festival grounds.

    You can rent bikes from several local shops in Telluride.

Regional Camping Options

  • There are several nearby camping options in the Telluride area. Two nearby campgrounds we recommend are:

    Sunshine Campground

    Sunshine Campground is a single-loop, paved campground with 15 campsites nestled in a dense aspen forest featuring a small mountain lake. Hiking trails, fishing, and jeep roads are available nearby, and Lizard Head Wilderness is a short drive away.

    Reservations are not available in advance. Sites are first come, first serve.

    Matterhorn Campground

    Matterhorn Campground is a developed campground located near Telluride with 28 campsites, including four sites with RV hookups (electricity and septic).

    Most sites offer mountain views, and amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, lantern poles, showers, and firewood available for purchase.

    Reservations are available for some sites, while others remain first come, first serve.
