2022 Fais Do-Do: Closing Celebration

Sunday, September 18 | Samantha Fish | Sheridan Opera House

The 2022 festival weekend ends with a special closing celebration show from Samantha Fish at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Sunday, September 18. The doors open at 9:30 pm and the show starts at 10:00 pm.

History

Fais Do-Do roughly translates to "Cajun dance party". The parties were named for the gentle command ('go to sleep') young mothers offered bawling infants so that they could get back out and dance with their husbands before someone else did. This is the final show of the festival weekend and shortly thereafter, everyone will get some sleep! This show is a highlight for many and one you won't want to miss.

Samantha Fish

Back again for her fifth year on our stage, Samantha Fish – as we all know - never disappoints. That’s why, for every year since she first stepped a candy-apple red stiletto onstage, we’ve insisted she make this a regular stop. Samantha has graced us since with her powerful singing, flame-throwing guitar work, and unbridled love for the blues, and for that we are deeply grateful. Her live shows are like medicine - no spoonful of sugar required. She understands the power of going to see live music. “I fell in love with music from going to shows, and I know how cathartic it can be. It heals your heart,” she says. “Anytime I play live, I just want to want to make people forget about everything else in the world and feel that same joy that I feel on stage.” Here’s to forgetting and joy.
